FAQs

Why should I insulate?

Insulation reduces energy costs, improves your comfort level and helps the environment by saving on energy.

How do I measure insulation performance?

The R value indicates resistance to heat flow. The greater the R value, the greater the resistance to heat flow which means greater insulation properties. For our zone, zone 2, the following values are recommended.

Attic/ceiling - R-30

Exterior walls - R-13

Floors - R-13

Basement walls - R-11

Can I increase my house's energy efficiency?

We recommend that you upgrade the walls (to R-15) and ceilings (to R-38) for a higher R value insulation. This will increase you insulation factor.

What is a R-Value?

It indicates insulating power or thermal resistance.
